United Daughters of the Confederacy monument

Dedicated on the fiftieth anniversary of the battle, the twelve foot granite monument is the only one on the field dedicated to Southern soldiers.

 

Location and directions

The monuments are on the west side of Urbana Pike (State Route 355) 100 yards south of the entrance to the new Monocacy Visitor Center

This boulder
overlooks the
Monocacy Battlefield
and is in memory

the Southern soldiers
who fell in the battle
fought July 9, 1864
which resulted in
a Confederate victory.
